Frequently Asked Questions

  • At sign up we only require four things from you. Your email, gender, year of birth & postal code.

  • No, it is not compulsory for you to update us with more details. But it is important for you to keep in mind that the more we know, the better we’re able to match suitable surveys to you.

Some of the details that help us are things like your household details, education levels, occupation, hobbies/interests. But it is entirely up to you how much you share with us.

  • The surveys can range from AUD $0.50 up to AUD $15.00 depending on the length + involvement. If the survey requires an offline task (like keeping a diary etc) then you could be looking at AUD $10.00 – AUD $50.00.

It’s not a tricky system and we don’t hide anything behind the scenes – we like to make it crystal clear for you. We pay you cash rewards for your efforts in completing the surveys and helping our clients gather the information they require from their consumers!

  • A PayPal account is needed when it comes time for you to transfer your payments over. But don’t worry – it's not hard to setup (simply head over to www.paypal.com to do so) and you can do this whenever you are ready. We don't require it at time of registration with Realtime Rewards.

NOTE: the email associated with Realtime Rewards must correspond with the email of your PayPal account so you must ensure you use the same email in both sign ups.

  • You can complete as many available surveys as you like! The sky is the limit. And the reverse is true too, you can also complete as little as you like too, whichever works best for you.

If you wish to receive more or less surveys, you can change your ideal survey frequency in your profile settings via the log in page.

  • Surveys can take from just 2 minutes and up to 25 minutes to complete. You’ll always be told the length of the survey and the incentive on offer ahead of accepting to complete it. So it’s all entirely your choice.

  • Realtime Rewards (us) collects and gathers information for Market Research purposes via online surveys only. Because the online surveys are the entirety of the research project, these surveys are paid.

Realtime Research (our sister company) collects and gathers information for Market Research purposes in greater detail. Oftentimes this takes place in person via focus groups, taste tests, interviews, shop-a-longs etc and sometimes via extended online panels. To being, a pre-recruitment survey will be completed to determine your eligibility to participate in the actual paid Market Research component (focus group etc). You will not accrue credit/points or be paid for completing these pre-recruitment qualifying surveys, however, you will be paid for participating in the actual market research component (e.g. focus group) if selected.

  • Yes, you can be a member with both Realtime Rewards & Realtime Research. In fact, we encourage that you do! One membership doesn’t have any impact on the other and vice versa.

In fact, why not head on over to Realtime Research and register now if you haven't done so already!

  • The survey link may be closed due to the quota being full. This means that we’ve reached the numbers required to complete the research.
The survey may also have expired which means that our project time is up.

  • Please be patient. We get surveys through to you as often as we can based on the details we know of you.

If you haven’t already done so – this may be the perfect opportunity to complete more of your profile as this helps us to ensure the correct survey invitations are coming through to you.

Please also be sure that our emails aren’t going into your Junk or SPAM email folders as this can happen depending on your security settings. You can do this by validating us as a sender and adding us to your safe list.

If you’re interested in taking part in other forms of Market Research (and not already registered) then you should head over to Realtime Research by visiting www.rtr.com.au (our sister company) for your chance to take part in Focus Groups, Taste Tests, Shop-a-longs, Interviews and lots more!

  • No! We’d hate it to happen to us so we will never share your information with anyone else without your permission. Your responses are used for research purposes only which means your answers will be kept strictly confidential and often combined with loads of other participants’ answers to create combined findings.

  • Negative incentives can occur when your response is considered invalid/inappropriate. This can be measured by a few things, some of which are listed below:

Survey Speeding – each survey has an estimated time to complete. If you complete a survey in a time frame that does not fall within the range that is acceptable you will not qualify for the survey, receive an incentive and may be terminated from the panel.

Inconsistent or inaccurate answers – If you provide answers that are not accurate and/or inconsistent in any manner whatsoever you will not qualify for the survey, receive an incentive and may be terminated from the panel.

Red Herring questions – A survey may include questions multiple times or demand that you choose a specific answer to ensure you are being truthful and/or reading the entire survey question. If we should find that your responses are unacceptable as per the red herring directive you will not qualify for the survey, receive and incentive and may be terminated from the panel.

Open ended questions – At times surveys may include a section that requests respondents to fill in their answers by writing them in (as opposed to selecting an answer from a set of fixed responses). If a response in an Open Ended question is considered to contain language that is inappropriate, non-sensible, or not fitting for the question you will not qualify for the survey, receive an incentive and may be terminated from the panel.
